Job Summary:
Focused on developing mutually beneficial client relationships with an emphasis on client needs, and business acquisition strategies. This specifically involves having client-facing account ownership responsibilities, understanding relevant issues affecting portfolio performance, and being knowledgeable about the uses of reinsurance to solve a wide range of client company challenges. This position will collaborate with a wide range of internal Key Business Partners to develop and refine client solutions.

- Lead client account relationships and develop account strategies for business growth.
- Work closely with our key clients to gain an understanding of their needs and our opportunity to build a mutually beneficial arrangement.
- Work with the Commercial and Innovation teams to perform activities which support New Business Acquisition goals.
- Build, maintain and improve professional relationships with the key decision makers within targeted accounts through deal negotiations, planned client visits, and phone meetings.
- Participate as needed in the marketing of Traditional Life, Innovation and VELOGICASM solutions, products and services in accordance with the organization's growth goals.
- Gain expertise and credibility by participating or serving on relevant industry committees, keeping up with key industry issues in publication, and through engagement at key industry conferences.
- Help to better position SCOR within the marketplace by soliciting input from clients as regards emerging industry trends and competitive intelligence.
- Help to achieve organizational thought leadership by writing for SCOR's client newsletters and industry publications, and attending and participating at targeted industry conferences.
- Work with the pricing actuaries to accurately develop a commercial best-estimate assumption set by communicating unique deal circumstances, planned terms and conditions, key client changes, etc., possibly challenging existing pricing standards in favor of a custom approach that more accurately reflects the underlying risk.
- Support the Pricing Team in ensuring the rational application of pricing policies, procedures and techniques to the valuation of new business opportunities.
- Lead Pricing Committee presentations by providing context and background for the deal, communicating key risks identified and mitigation employed, communicating the impact of deal-specific circumstances, terms and conditions on pricing assumptions chosen.
- Manage Business Review for all potential deals and lead-present all deals with emphasis on fundamentally understanding and communicating the rationale for the deal and the chosen profit target, the risk associated with the deal, specific mitigation employed, our competitive position, outstanding issues and steps/effort needed to close.
- Act as client expert in facilitating effective, profitable solution design with other SCOR subject matter experts.
- Identify client- or competition-based "red flags"; develop a plan and recruit resources to overcome.
- Work with client teams to manage ongoing or historical technical or business issues with SCOR customers, including resolution of amendment requests, finalizing outstanding treaties or negotiating exceptions to previously agreed requirements.

Qualifications
Required experience & competencies
- 10+ years of insurance / reinsurance experience in actuarial and business positions of increasing responsibility.
- A thorough technical grounding in insurance pricing and needs of direct life insurance writers.
- 3 years of experience in making business decisions, demonstrating leadership of direct or indirect teams.
- Effective multi-tasker with demonstrated comfort and ability to effectively prioritize and manage several high-stakes transactions with sense of urgency and a results orientation.
- Effective communicator in terms of written and oral communications, including formal and informal presentations, including effective listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Ability to be a team player, assisting where needed with team members, in an effort to achieve organizational growth, profitability and operational goals.
- Ability to act as Team Leader with respect to client team regional responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach and otherwise develop other colleagues in the art and science of reinsurance relationship management.
- Takes accountability for role and results and holds others accountable.
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field.
FCIA and/or FSA designation required.
