[ This role reports to the SVP, Actuary, COG and is part of a small team in Philadelphia that supports the actuarial home office function of estimating, analyzing, and presenting the financial risks associated with insurance products related to the Chubb Overseas General. The Senior Assistant Actuary role interacts with the Chief Actuary (COG), regional reserving teams, and Finance (COG and regions).

Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare information for financial reporting requirements and quarterly reconciliations. Produce accurate and clear management summaries of regional actuarial analysis.
• Assist COG actuarial leadership in the preparation and presentation of quarterly reserve reviews to Management.
• Support forecasting and monthly close processes, financial analysis of results and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance and other relevant functional disciplines to design and manage processes aimed to gain efficiencies in collecting, aggregating and presenting actuarial information.
• Perform actuarial analysis to supplement and peer review COG regional reserving process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Associateship (ACAS), or soon to be, in either Casualty Actuarial Society or equivalent international actuarial body .
  • 6-8 years of insurance industry experience primarily serving in an actuarial capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite products particularly Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Knowledge of SQL, Qlikview/QlikSense and/or Power BI is not required but considered a plus.
