Responsibilities
  • Lead and run business processes and drive phases of projects that directly impact Transamerica financials.
  • Support IFRS/STAT Reporting, Financial Plan/Capital Reforecast with hedge-related inputs.
  • Compare actual reporting results to forecasted figures, identify and analyze areas of deviation. Provide insight to performance variances to stakeholders. Ensure that all data inputs are accurately compiled, analyzed and integrated into the reporting process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure accurate representation of hedge inputs and support smooth financial reporting process.
  • Lead initiatives to improve process reliability and accuracy, enhance process efficiency and effectiveness of the team's output.
  • Manage and improve the functional processes, policies and techniques in alignment with company objectives.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge; attend educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks, and participate in professional societies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, related science field, finance, or related business field
  • Seven years related experience (or five with Master's degree) and expert level process knowledge in the following areas:
  • Insurance liability, asset valuation, derivatives modeling, liquidity management, machine learning, artificial intelligence
  • Familiarity with asset liability management practices
  • Good understanding of investment and finance concepts, and be able to creatively apply them in solving analytical problems in the business setting
  • Team and project management leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • FSA designation with life insurance industry experience.
  • Experience working with asset liability management processes in insurance or banking
  • Experience with annuities valuation reporting.


Working Conditions
  • Hybrid environment: 2 days per week in Baltimore, MD or Cedar Rapids, IA
