Job Description:

We’re actively seeking a talented Actuarial Leader to join our Capital Management team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote.

As a AVP of Capital Reinsurance and Solutioning, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by developing and implementing capital solutions to support the company's financial objectives.

How you will make an impact:

  • Work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategic capital reinsurance solutions to support the company’s financial objectives

  • Partner across the enterprise to lead the implementation of affiliate reinsurance transaction

  • Drive the optimization of affiliate reinsurance transactions to improve the overall company outcomes

  • Partner across the company to lead the Affiliate Re operation and reporting, including but not limited to financial/regulatory reporting, stress testing and business planning

  • Maintain and report the existing capital reinsurance treaties

  • Support any other strategic capital structuring projects

  • Strong leader and developer of a team focusing on technical and non-technical development.

  • Provide guidance and support to other departments within the company.

  • Oversee strong cultural of development, empowerment and transparency focusing on removing key person dependencies in highly specialized positions

  • Build strong partnerships across the Company, Division and Industry



The experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial or a related field.

  • 10+ years of actuarial experience

  • FSA Preferred

What will make you stand out:

  • Understanding/familiarity with reinsurance structure and transaction

  • Understanding/familiarity with Bermuda Monetary Authority and NAIC requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The base pay range for this position is between $209,200 - $366,100.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$235,350.00 - $287,650.00
