Job Summary
The successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of understanding, pricing and managing longevity reinsurance risks, as well as supporting business development opportunities in North America, thereby enhancing SGL Global Longevity team's ability to write profitable new business.
Lead production of technical pricing for Longevity tenders.
Support/Lead technical development of new products/ propositions.
Lead business referrals with Group sign-off teams based in Paris, Cologne and Ireland.
Lead pricing aspects of new business execution.
Support maintenance and development of Longevity pricing processes and tools.
Lead or support research and ad-hoc projects.
Development of SCOR's Longevity capabilities in the US, in particular pricing and management expertise .
Responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities
Quote Production
- Lead production of quote tenders which includes experience analysis, proposal of basis, rate production, KPI metrics, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure pricing basis conforms with SCOR Global Life Longevity pricing guidelines and that key pricing issues/ risks are highlighted early.
- Lead new business referrals with Group sign-off teams based in Paris, Cologne and Ireland.
- Pricing Lead of new business execution.
New product and proposition development
- Stay connected with market practices to propose effective & innovative solutions.
- Support/Lead technical development of new products / propositions.
Pricing Process and Tools
- Manage maintenance and development of Longevity pricing processes and tools to improve accuracy, efficiency and insight gained from process outputs.
- Pro-actively suggest improvements to pricing processes and tools.
- Ensure process updates are managed in a compliant and documented manner.
Research
- Lead/ assist Longevity research projects.
- Assist ongoing innovation of pricing basis which enable SCOR to write profitable new business and develop its product offering.
Relationships
- Develop client and internal relationships and provide excellent customer service, to help deliver Longevity team's objectives.
Promote team's technical expertise, internally and externally, help develop team member and educate internal non specialists as necessary.
Qualifications
Required experience & competencies
Essential:
- Experienced qualified Actuary with multiple years of relevant pricing or research experience.
- Good understanding of US pension and retirement regulation and practice.
- Good understanding of pension de-risking offerings in the US.
- Good understanding of pension scheme data and typical scheme rules.
Desirable:
- Client management experience.
- R experience.
- Experience of manipulating and analysing large datasets.

- Excellent planning and work management skills and experience of leading projects.

Required Education
- FSA designation
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.

"In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $142,000 - $192,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off."
