About the Position
The AVP, Capital Planning & Analysis - Rating Agency is responsible for rating agency capital modeling, analytics, and forecasting, supporting management to optimize the company's capital and financial strength ratings. The person in this role will work closely with Treasury personnel responsible for rating agency relations.
The AVP, Capital Planning & Analysis - Rating Agency will report to the Vice President of Capital Planning & Analysis.
Role Responsibilities:
- Be the company's expert on rating agency capital modeling methodologies; develop and maintain internal rating agency capital models used to support improvement of the company's financial strength ratings.
- Prepare estimates and forecasts of rating agency capital to support effective and efficient business decision making.
- Provide regular trend analytics; anticipate impact of environmental changes to support management's optimization of rating agency capital.
- Collaborate with the Head of Rating Agency Relations to develop and implement standard metrics for rating agency management reporting
- Participate in capital and liquidity contingency planning, in collaboration with Treasury
- Implement and execute change management of new tools, templates, and technology designed to improve how the organization plans and manages capital
- Implement and maintain appropriate control framework, including model governance processes and best practices
- Participate in internal discussions with the Treasury, Investments, Actuarial, and Enterprise Risk Management teams on rating agency capital matters
Skills & Experience
- Experience in financial industry required; actuarial, risk management and / or treasury experience in or for the insurance industry strongly preferred
- A degree in a quantitative field preferred; professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, FSA) a plus
- Experience working with statutory and / or rating agency capital reporting and analytics, actuarial, and / or capital markets
- Experience with financial and insurance risk modeling
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Support effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders and demonstrate strong collaboration skills
- Must be responsive to leadership requests and comfortable performing effectively in a fast-paced environment with cross functional partners.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Able to work & effectively present to senior members of the Finance team
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
