The opportunity

 

The Actuarial Manager is an individual contributor and will be working on Canadian IFRS and IFRS17 reporting deliverables.


Responsibilities

  • Financial Management Responsible for the actuarial aspects of the 2 financial reporting bases of CGAAP and local basis
  • Provide and communicate of earnings analysis and estimates and identify trends and business issues to highlight to Senior Management
  • Provide financial advice with financial projection and stress test for business planning
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to business to support growth of distribution channels and other business initiatives.

What we are looking for

  • University degree- Mathematics, Business or Finance preferred. 4+ years of Actuarial related experience (including Pricing, Valuation reporting, Plan, etc.)
  • Strong communicator in English including ability to translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts
  • In good progress to become Fellow of an internationally recognized actuarial society i.e. FSA, FCIA, FIAA, FIA
  • Highly developed business acumen, and pragmatic approach to solving problems and implementing solutions.
  • Highly effective influencing skills
  • Strong relationship building skills to build effective working relationships with divisional and Group leaders
  • Creative problem solving and the ability to motivate others to implement new pricing solutions
  • Well-versed in actuarial modelling preferably AXIS model.
