We’re actively seeking a talented Actuary & Director to join the Capital Reinsurance and Solutions team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. This role can be onsite or hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As an Actuary & Director on the Capital Reinsurance and Solutions team, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by developing and implementing capital solutions to support the company's financial objectives.
How you'll help move us forward:
Lead pricing and implementation of new affiliate reinsurance transactions from start to finish, collaborating across divisions, teams, and the enterprise as a whole.
Lead annual planning exercise and quarterly/ad-hoc forecasting work for the team’s expected transactions to help support the company’s larger financial planning and reporting needs.
Lead reporting (financial, regulatory, stress testing) on our affiliate reinsurance transactions.
Drive the optimization of capital transactions to improve the overall company outcomes.
Maintain and report the existing capital reinsurance treaties.
Support any future strategic capital structuring projects.
Provide support, analysis, and guidance on retrocession arrangements.
Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to other departments within the company.
Provide mentorship to more junior employees to help build a well-rounded and successful team.
The experience you bring:
FSA required.
7+ years of actuarial experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial or a related field.
What makes you stand out:
Understanding/familiarity with reinsurance structures and transactions.
Knowledge of Bermuda Monetary Authority and NAIC requirements.
ALM concepts and/or pricing concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
