This leader shares accountability for the multi-billion dollar new sales revenue goal, gross margin goal, and client retention goal of OptumRx. On average, they will have daily interaction with Market Presidents from the Growth organization and weekly interaction with the OptumRx leadership team (CEO, COO, CFO). The span of influence for this position includes multiple business segments (PBM, Home Delivery, and Specialty) and the cross-departmental teams that support them (Finance, Sales, Account Management, Industry Relations, and Network Relations). The key responsibilities of this position include playing a leadership role in achieving OptumRx's sales and renewal financial targets with specific responsibility for the near real-time gathering and translating of market competitive intelligence from both external and internal sources, interfacing with Rx Underwriting, Rx Pricing, and cross functional teams to develop, implement, and continuously improve go to market pricing strategies, tactics, and designs. This leader will also be integral to the development of external market competitive specific economic targets that will form the basis of plans and goals.

- Across all key components of our value story beyond Rebate. Network, and Clinical to include digital capabilities. Direct to Consumer. Value Based pricing approaches. Risk Sharing, etc.)
- Emerging and needed Products/Services
- Creation of Competitive Intelligent analytics to deliver key near real time market competitive metrics
- Will work closely with the Actuarial, Pricing, and Data Analytics teams to produce analytical translation which will convert market intelligence insights into specific financial economic improvement targets to increase Optum Rx's market competitiveness
- Development of a Cross Functional Competitive Intelligence/Pricing Strategy Counsel that will meet on a regular cadence to implement pricing strategy and tactics
- Ownership of communicating market economic competitiveness targets to cross functional owners (e.g., Network, Rebates. Formulary, Clinical, Product)
- Will lead the development of a deep understanding of how ORx pricing in understood by the market and distribution channel and will develop channel specific strategies and tactics to improve how ORx competitiveness is valued within the marketplace
- Ownership of Spreadsheet Strategy function to translate pricing strategy into tactics curated on a consultant specific basis
- Strong tie into ORx pricing to ensure all relevant strategy and tactics are effectively incorporated into UW pricing tools
- Developing feedback loop and communication plan to all relevant cross functional teams to increase ORx wide understanding of current and likely market trends
- Conduct regular broad communication outreach regarding market trends to key internal constituencies
- Direct activities concerning Definitions, Exclusions, Contract Language, etc.
- Recommend new product development/product enhancements and Formulary needs
- Strategy to incorporate/increase penetration of ORx product/services
- Play a leadership role in achieving OptumRx's sales and renewal financial targets
- Lead strategic decision making through an in-depth understanding of OptumRx and all competitors, industry trends, market dynamics and internal key indicators
- Interact with all levels of the organization; routinely with OptumRx executive leadership (CFO, CEO, and COO) to influence go to market strategies and long-range planning objectives
- Drive strategic decision making that ultimately delivers on OptumRx revenue, margin, and retention targets established in Annual Business Plan.
- Provide exceptional team leadership with a focus on employee engagement, development, retention, and attracting top talent into the organization

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of experience with PBM pricing, underwriting or strategy
- 5+ years of experience in a direct management role, leading and inspiring people at various levels within the organization
- Experience managing scope and resources, and meeting timelines and budget targets
- Client-facing experience, including negotiating and consulting with clients
- Solid business and financial acumen, including solid financial analysis experience
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and communicating effectively and efficiently at multiple levels of large, complex organizations
- Intermediate skills in MS Excel, MS Office product suite
- Ability to travel up to 10%
