We are looking for a Head of Pricing - Casualty to lead a team of actuaries supporting the pricing function for the Casualty products at Argo. This role reports to the Chief Pricing Actuary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and develop staff responsible for the pricing function for all casualty business units (currently a team of 6).
  • Act as an internal expert on issues, trends, and other concerns for casualty business. 
  • Lead loss ratio planning and reforecast process for designated business units.
  • Conduct profitability analyses, and evaluate segment and sub-segment performance to continually improve granular pricing of risk. 
  • Develop enhancements to pricing algorithms and rating tools.
  • Work collaboratively with underwriting, reserving, claims, finance, IT ,and other pricing actuaries. 
  • Communicate results to business unit leaders and executives.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of data, processes, and actuarial methods. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Finance-related field.
  • FCAS designation.
  • 10+ years of property/casualty insurance experience, with 3 or more years of casualty-specific pricing experience.
  • At least 1 year of management experience.
  • Experience specific to pricing Excess Casualty, Construction, or Environmental is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and committed individual/team work ethic.
  • Ability to effectively interact with the executive team and coworkers across all functions of the organization.
  • Ability to motivate others.

The base salary range provided below will be commensurate with candidate experience.  In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

New York City Pay Range:
$200,000$250,000 USD
