The VP, Actuarial Transformation Lead will lead the successful Actuarial transformation to a modern and efficient process that contributes directly to Chubb's goals and objectives. Initial focus areas for this role include the life cycle of profitability analysis and planning, digital insight delivery, talent development and enablement, and pricing and rating modernization.
The Transformation Lead reports to the Chief Actuary of North America, with matrix reporting into North America Corporate Actuarial. This role also partners with North America Actuarial Leaders, Information Technology and the business units to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, and will drive these opportunities through design, development and implementation through benefit realization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute Actuarial strategy, including assessing current services and their alignment with business goals, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with actuarial teams and committees to improve transparency, reduce manual data adjustment, and increase efficiency and talent utilization.
- Develop and prioritize solutions, including overseeing and managing technical delivery from vendors, offshore teams, and internal Actuarial and IT teams.
- Facilitate change management and implementation strategies, ensuring user testing and pilots are conducted successfully.
- Implement training and tools to promote technical excellence and cultural transformation.
- Establish a monitoring and measurement framework to assess both financial return on investment and qualitative business impacts.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of relevant industry trends, including Actuarial and Digital Transformation trends.
- Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of business process and products across Actuarial and IT and establish strong working relationships with business leaders, functional counterparts and vendors.
- Provide thought leadership for solutions to emerging business problems.
- Coach and proactively promote the skills development of junior staff.
- Ensure documentation is thorough, captured appropriately, meets best practices and compliance standards and is easily assessable to the team members.

EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors required. ACAS or FCAS preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant Actuarial experience
- 4-6 years transformation and digital/ business process engineering/ business analysis experience, preferred
- Experience as project manager or product owner of cross-functional teams
- Experience implementing change initiatives, yielding the targeted return on investment and qualitative objectives
