Overview
Candidates may reside outside of the Brownsville area, however, this role does require travel and work in the Brownsville office 1 week per month.

As the VP of Pricing for the Pronto Insurance Non-Standard Auto book of business, you will play a significant role in evaluating the California and Texas books of business and building a profitable pricing program. The overall focus of this role includes optimizing Net Revenue and Profit, Data Analytics, Reinsurance Relationships, and Executive Leadership. You will partner with our carriers and reinsurers to build mutually beneficial reinsurance programs for the company to grow profitably. You will be integral to the overall success of the company with a voice at the leadership table. This role is responsible for the MGA Actuarial & Data Analytics functions, reporting directly to the President of Pronto Insurance.
How you'll make an impact
- Develop and execute company pricing strategy for non-standard auto products. Balance rate competitiveness, sustainable profitable growth, rating consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain various relations with carriers and reinsurers, including negotiating and financially analyzing annual reinsurance contracts.
- Collaborate with our Brokers to enhance current partnerships and explore additional carrier and reinsurer partnerships.
- Lead the regulatory strategy for state insurance departments and state legislatures.
Skills for success
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities
- Possess a high level of emotional intelligence to handle sensitive and confidential situations that require teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Applied knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business related to problems in casualty insurance.
About You
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of insurance pricing related experience required. MBA preferred.
- FCAS, or ACAS preferred.
- Working knowledge of reinsurance and carrier relationships.
