Job Description Summary
The University Relations Recruiter will support all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization's finance and actuarial groups by playing a critical role in ensuring that the best possible talent is hired. The recruiter must be able to successfully manage, prioritize and close searches against a timeline and have experience setting benchmarks, metrics, and understand how to prioritize. They thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, can roll up their sleeves, work hard, have fun, and get the job done. The Recruiter will be responsible for our internship program revolving around our finance, accounting, and/or actuary organizations and will play a vital role in identifying, acquiring and maintaining strong talent for these opportunities.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Engage with universities, attend career fairs, and host career days to connect with potential candidates
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess skills for entry-level positions and internships.
- Building relationships with educational institutions
- Screen resumes to determine which candidates meet the minimum requirements and screen applicants through phone and video interviews.
- Report on recruiting metrics after every careers event, including number of candidates interviewed and hired
- Reviews and evaluates applicants work history, education, training, and other qualifications.
- Notifies applicants of consideration or rejection; interviews those selected that meet organizations qualifications. Informs candidates of jobs duties/responsibilities, compensation and benefits programs, work schedule/conditions, career advancement opportunities, etc.
- Prepares and extends job offers
- Prepares, coordinates and facilitates onsite events for the finance, accounting, and actuarial internship programs
- Manages relationships with active interns and identifies full time opportunities for graduating interns
- Support key finance, accounting, and actuarial program sponsors in enhancing the internship experience
- Liaise with team leaders to define hiring needs and design internship programs
- Follows appropriate recruiting and hiring process
- Minimize risk by maintaining proper documentation
- Able to commute to Cedar Rapids office at least twice a week and travel to key institutions in the Iowa region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent education and experience.
- 2+ years recruiting, Human Resources, customer service or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and negotiation skills, with a keen focus on delivering business results
- Ability to execute recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management
- Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as a team leader and member
- Possess strong analytic skills with ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team
- Financial Services and/or Insurance Industry experience, specifically work within a finance and/or actuarial organization
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid office environment (2-3 days per week)
- Travel to Iowa schools 25-30% of the time
