How does this role contribute to our collective success?

This role is to support the CUO Office with monitoring and managing enterprise underwriting performance. It is a technical role for a data analyst or actuary and reports to the Head of Underwriting Performance.

What will you do in this role?

• Design and develop efficient and robust data processes for all aspects of underwriting performance management, including internal and external information.
• Support analysis of results and communication of findings to underwriting leads, actuarial teams, and senior management.
• Develop templates for actuarial analysis and reporting for the Pricing and Portfolio Management team to drive common standards across the different product areas.
• Evaluate external market data and analytics platforms. Work with business partners and service providers to enhance data and reports.
• Work with the Data team to ensure complete, accurate and up to date information is available as required.
• Design and develop sophisticated analytical tools and MI to enable regular and effective performance monitoring. Engage with key stakeholders to ensure that requirements are met.
• Coordinate development of dashboards with the Business Technology Team. Provide user training for self-service tools.
• Perform other ad-hoc analyses as required to support portfolio management activities.

About You:

What you need to have:
• The suitable candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in a technical role in commercial lines (re)insurance.
• Experience in and perspective on best practices for design of data processes, analytical tools, and MI.

What we prefer you to have:
• Experience developing data strategies for performance management and portfolio steering / planning is preferred.
• Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly computer literate, able to use spreadsheets, databases and learn the use of new systems.
• Familiarity with pricing, reserving and capital modelling techniques would be a plus.
• Capable of developing and maintaining effective cross-functional relationships at all levels.
• Ability to plan effectively and prioritise workload.
• Ability to work independently.
