About the team
We are a collaborative group of actuaries dedicated to delivering actionable insights through technical excellence. Our team values innovative thinking and supports professional growth. You'll work alongside program managers, analysts, and engineers while partnering with Corporate Risk Management, Finance, and Operations teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of data scientist experience
- 4+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 4+ years of data science/actuarial experience with Master's degree or 6+ years of data science/actuarial experience with a Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science).
- Technical experience in P&C Actuarial
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
- Prior experience in non-traditional actuarial roles (e.g. ridesharing, InsurTech) and/or a range of traditional roles (e.g. pricing, reserving, modeling, ERM)
- Excellent at explaining actuarial concepts to non-insurance stakeholders
- Comfortable leading complex projects with cross-departmental resources and solving open-ended business problems with innovation
- Experience building new and unique insurance products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
