Description and Requirements
GAM US team plays the crucial role of subject matter expert as it pertains to actuarial modeling, and is responsible for delivering robust and scalable actuarial modeling solutions in accordance with enterprise & regional objectives, while adhering to MetLife’s actuarial coding and practice standards. For specific lines of business, GAM also plays the critical role of generating accurate and timely numbers which become part of MetLife’s internal and external financial reporting. Our financial results are key to measuring performance against targets and company strategy, as well as in shaping the strategy for future. GAM’s work generates key analyses helping business to review the performance from different angles and in taking necessary actions.
- Collaborating with the US Actuarial team and IT partners to maintain and develop actuarial models.
- Defining input data requirements to support country specific reporting requirements.
- Working within the Global Actuarial Modeling team to produce and deliver actuarial results for regional MetLife customers.
- Support with the delivery of actuarial models used for the following bases:
- US Stat
- US GAAP
- Cash Flow Testing
- Embedded Value
- Risk Based Capital
- Economic Capiltal
- Asset Liability Management
- Maintain a robust change management process around the actuarial models supporting US Actuarial and continue to enhance modelling capabilities.
- Engage with US Actuarial Teams and partner with the rest of GAM US to ensure consistency across actuarial models and standards.
- Support the management and quality of various libraries of codes.
- Ensure best practises in coding are applied by the various teams.
- Actively engage with business partners across the organization to improve our reporting processes.
- At least three years of experience within a financial or an actuarial function.
- Knowledge in Prophet and/or Python and working with best estimate cashflow models.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Capable of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with project team members, IT, and business resources
- Familiarity with CFT, US GAAP and US Stat standards.
- Experience with ALS.
- Experience in other ancillary tools/technology, e.g. Power BI, Python, Altyerx, Databricks.
