Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. seeks a Sr. Actuarial Analyst for its Princeton, NJ location. Applicants interested in this role must apply through recruiting@munichre.com and reference job code: NL.
Duties: Complete actuarial analyses appropriate for the functional area. May include rate filings, ultimate loss projections, pricing studies, risk capital modeling, portfolio analysis, research projects. Lead projects/analyses requiring multiple resources. Participate and create actuarial presentations and present results/topics to clients (internal and external) and management. Direct the modification and enhancement of existing applications to address special issues. Coordinate and help focus and prioritize the use of actuarial resources for tasks that are assigned. Direct the completion of required data preparation, including data input. Identify data & operational issues requiring specialized actuarial attention and take action to address them. Document and communicate assumptions, technical issues, results and alternatives to actuarial staff and internal and external clients. Participate in developing new methodologies, products and procedures. Peer review actuarial work and provide constructive feedback. Participate in the training of others (underwriters, client managers, risk analysts, accountants and actuaries) regarding actuarial analyses and methodologies. Manage the work for those who are not direct reports including other actuaries, programmers and support staff, as needed. Prepare for and pass Actuarial Exams.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field involving modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience as an Actuarial Analyst or closely related actuarial position. Candidate's prior work experience must include: Applied knowledge of (re)insurance company processes, functions, and pricing concepts; Passed at least two (2) actuarial exams; Applied knowledge of MS Excel and Access VBA, SQL (MS SQL Server); Applied knowledge of actuarial models including actuarial concepts and techniques underlying the models; Organizing insurance data and creating actuarial exhibits in preparation for pricing purpose; and, applied knowledge of personal auto market to perform market analyses. May telecommute but must have ability to report Princeton, NJ office at least 2 times per week. Requires 5% domestic travel. Salary range is from $113,300 to $113,300 per year. 40 hrs/wk.
