Position: Sr. Actuarial Analyst
Location: Remote (must reside in Florida)
Duration: Perm
Pay Rate Range:90-115k
Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
• Provide statistical data analysis and construct probability tables to forecast risk and liability.
• Support product rate filings, reserve calculations, group underwriting, and experience reporting to aid in price decisions.
• Develop and maintain financial models for monitoring and projecting current and future business.
• Maintain rating models and database support programs used in the Underwriting department.
• Submit weekly progress reports on current projects.
• Assist in the development and pricing of new products and product enhancements, collaborating with various departments.
• Contribute to the determination of cash reserves, risk funding mechanisms, budget projections, and other financial modeling.
• Support the design, review, administration, and regulatory compliance of health insurance plans for specific employer groups.
• Assist in the development and pricing of existing and proposed Large Group business, including support of pricing models.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelors degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science from an accredited institution.
• A minimum GPA of 3.4 during college or university studies.
• Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, SQL, or other programming languages.
• Successful completion of three actuarial exams.
• Familiarity with laws, government regulations, and agency rules related to managed care.
• Basic understanding of insurance and related terminology.
• Strong foundation in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their practical applications.
• Knowledge of economics, accounting principles, and financial data reporting.
• Proficiency in document structure and content, including spelling, grammar, and composition rules.
• Ability to independently perform support tasks in at least one of the following areas: Filing, Financial, Group Services, or Underwriting.
• Proven experience working with Underwriting, Risk Adjustment, Finance, Decision Support, Group Services, and/or Senior Management.
• At least two years of experience in one of the following support areas: Filing, Financial, Product, Group Services, or Underwriting.
