Role Overview

Safe-Guard's actuarial team is expanding and adding a new Actuarial Analyst position to our Reserving team. As a Reserving actuary at Safe-Guard, your responsibilities will include core actuarial functions, including modeling future claim and refund liabilities. The analyst will also support financial analysis and incentive program calculations while collaborating with various teams across the organization.

Safe-Guard's actuarial team work's side-by-side with our business team. At Safe-Guard you will have an opportunity to expand both your actuarial and business expertise.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the calculation of required reserves for Safe-Guard's automotive warranty portfolio.
  • Drive profit share calculations for partners, ensuring accurate financial tracking of incentive programs.
  • Develop and refine actuarial models to assess risk and project future liabilities.
  • Provide actuarial insights and recommendations by collaborating with Accounting, Finance, Sales, Claims, and Underwriting teams.
  • Conduct financial impact assessments and analyze business performance.
  • Assist in setting actuarial methodologies and assumptions for reserving and underwriting.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management and external partners.

Job Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in the P&C industry.
  • Passage of at least Two SOA/CAS actuarial exams with intent to sit for future actuarial exams (company study time, materials, and exam bonuses provided).
  • Strong experience in Reserving and/or Pricing.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and SQL (or similar language), and ability to use both tools (and others as needed) to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
