What you doProvide strategic leadership and oversight for our Product/Actuarial function, including product development, innovation, implementation and overall responsibility for the financial strength of products, research, statistical services, filings, systems, actuarial methods and standards, and department procedures. Provide positive and engaging leadership across the organization and directly for employees of the Product/Actuarial function. Foster collaboration with Group Actuarial to ensure seamless coordination and understanding of our efforts. You will report into the CEO.

Product: Accountable for establishing competitive pricing, maintenance of reserves, and development of new products. Collaborate with second line of defense functions, (CRM) on product strategy and management
  • Competitive Intelligence - Build and manage analysis supporting product benchmarking across each industry, responsible for identifying market trends and opportunities
  • Product Strategy - Develop product strategy in consideration of company OKRs, manage a pipeline of product concepts and enhancements using connectivity and partnership with customer/fin pros to use feedback
  • Product Go-to-Market - Manage the strategy and execution for bringing products to market, including managing the Product Development Lifecycle (PDCL) and being responsible for corporate readiness coordination, in partnership with other teams.
  • Product implementation - Program management supporting the creating and implementation of product across all company partners, responsible for implementing the PDLC
  • Actuarial Product Development - Design risk management strategies, achieving profitability targets consistent with actuarial standards of practice and driving the long-term growth and sustainability of the company by ensuring relevance and sustainability of product portfolio
  • Product Illustrations - Responsible for new product illustration development, deployment, accuracy, and compliance with Illustration Actuary requirements.
    • Product Contract Group - Responsible for the drafting and development of product contracts and achieve regulatory approvals for product forms
  • Product Administration System Configuration and Testing - Responsible for configuring administrative systems


Financial Reporting and Analysis: Provides development of actuarial related financial reports and statistical analysis to support continuing operations.
  • Financial reporting and analysis across US Statutory and IFRS accounting basis
    • Actuarial Experience Analysis - Responsible for ongoing management of experience, supporting annual experience studies for actuarial assumptions
  • Actuarial Modeling and Systems - Managing and maintaining financial models supporting accounting basis and management (including ALM)
  • Profitability Management - Responsible for ongoing profitability management across all lines of business to ensure non-guaranteed elements of contracts are managed according to standards and processes following ASOPs and regulatory requirements
  • ALM - Responsible for liability component of ALM, including model development and management for the ALM functions
  • Hedge Strategy - Leader of the Hedge Manager, responsible for establishing hedge strategy, managing effectiveness and supporting operations delivery of hedge data to AIM
  • System Testing - Responsible for testing operational systems (Calculon, etc.)


Reinsurance
  • Reinsurance strategy - Establish and implement reinsurance roadmap to align to company OKRs. Manage reinsurance market trends, partnering with reinsurers, leading the Reinsurance Manager to use partnership and manage associated risks
  • Inforce Reinsurance Management - Responsible for managing Inforce Reinsurance requirements to ensure compliance and goals are achieved


What you bring
  • Four-year degree required in Actuarial Science, Math, Physics, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 11+ years of Actuarial experience required in financial function at US insurance company or investment bank.
  • People management skills with experience managing teams
  • FSA, MAAA required


Base Salary Range: $400-$450kActual base salary may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
