The Impact You Will Have In this role, you will report to the Head of Pricing - Property, Natural Resources and Construction, providing support on pricing topics to the Property line of business. You will take an active part in guiding and steering the performance of the portfolios, informing appropriate pricing strategies to enable Allianz Commercial to meet long-term profit targets. You will provide advice and tools that enable execution of these strategies and support in the monitoring of outcomes.
Some of your responsibilities could include:
- Supporting ongoing maintenance, development, calibration and use of pricing tools, including refining the tools through recalibrations, developing appropriate statistical pricing methodologies and implementing technical pricing models into our new pricing platforms.
- Carrying out and supporting ongoing case pricing reviews, including reviewing and supporting work undertaken by other members of the team.
- Developing an expert knowledge of the company's IT landscape, data and data systems.
- Conducting deep-dive profitability reviews involving data preparation and profitability analysis of individual accounts and/or business segments, as required, ensuring the results of such analyses lead to meaningful portfolio actions and are reflected in the technical pricing models as appropriate.
- Keeping abreast of the various catastrophe pricing topics and working with the catastrophe pricing actuary and catastrophe management team to ensure catastrophe pricing is appropriately reflected as part of the technical pricing models.
- Establishing an excellent working relationship with the Underwriting teams to ensure their long-term support for technical pricing concepts and pricing tools.
- Supporting projects which affect the use of technical pricing and promoting the use of technical pricing at Allianz Commercial.
- Successfully collaborating across the Global Pricing team and all Allianz Commercial departments.
- Understanding market developments globally and ensure that loss trends are understood and reflected in our pricing activities.
- Qualified P&C Actuary with at least 3 years' experience in a technical pricing environment, including the development and management of pricing tools, preferably for P&C commercial lines;
- Experience in the development and data-driven calibrations of pricing tools, both exposure and experience rating, including corporate and specialty lines as well as broader case pricing;
- Extensive Excel skills (including VBA), SQL knowledge and some experience with Python or R preferred;
- Strong skills in data visualization and interpretation;
- Knowledge of JavaScript/CSS/the Palantir Foundry platform a bonus;
- Some experience with Machine Learning and predictive modelling techniques a plus;
- Experience in the development of strong end-to-end solutions, all the way through from problem definition to full analysis to development of actionable recommendations;
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail;
- Project based experience including management of multiple stakeholders;
- Self-motivated with a natural curiosity to ask probing questions and ensure that those questions lead to appropriate action;
- Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with peers, management and the business areas;
- Collaborative approach to working relationships with proven ability in building broad consensus and momentum for cross function projects;
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with technical and non-technical team members;
- Results orientated with a proven track-record of delivering on-time projects and process improvements; and
- Ability to work in an international/virtual environment.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $130,988 - $224,550. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
