Description and Requirements

This position will be responsible for projecting STAT Capital & Surplus, RBC ratio and dividends for key life insurance legal entities under base and stress scenarios. These projections have high visibility and are used by multiple teams to manage Capital and help inform risk management and hedging decisions in the company. The individual in this position will work closely with the CFO organizations, Investments, Risk Management and Treasury as well as other areas to develop these statutory projections.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

·       Develop projections (Base, Sensitivities, and stress scenarios) which are presented at either monthly CFO review meetings or quarterly Capital Management Committee meetings, including:

o   Coordinating process across line of business CFO teams, Investments, and other functional areas 

o   Modeling dividends in line with capacity and capital targets

o   Providing analysis to explain projection trends in line with macro-economic assumptions and compared to prior projection and Plan.

·       Support solvency ratio (Economic capital) and dividend projection process for offshore captives domiciled in Bermuda and Cayman.  This would give a good exposure to GAAP equity, economic capital, and regulatory capital frameworks.

·       Provide projection results and analysis for presentations to Board of Directors, Rating Agencies, NYDFS, etc.

·       Model STAT dividend and RBC projections for ad-hoc transaction scenarios to support strategic initiatives.

·       Communicate modeling results and analysis to management.

·       Provide analysis for actual results compared to projection and Plan for quarterly CFO review meetings.

·       Identify and implement enhancement opportunities, including changes to the projection process, implementation of new reports using Alteryx and Power BI, STAT EPBCS system changes, etc.

 

 

 

What you need to succeed (Required Qualifications): 

·       Bachelor’s degree in finance, Mathematics, or related subject

·       5+ years of experience in financial services working in areas such as Actuarial, Finance, or Risk Management 

·       Proficient in financial analysis and financial modeling

·       Proficient practical and theoretical knowledge of building financial models and actuarial analysis.

·       Track record in analyzing complex problems, driving results, and delivering recommendations to high quality standards.

·       Strong written and oral communication skills.

·       A broad understanding of Life Insurance products and benefits; strong business acumen

·       Experience of Life Insurance Statutory financial analysis is a plus.

·       Ability to continually meet established deadlines and multi-task.

 

 

 Preferred Qualification:

    ASA/FSA or Completion of/working towards CFA designation

    US STAT reporting and projection experience

    Experience with VBA or other programing languages

    Experience with Anaplan

 

 


The salary range for applicants for this position is 103100 - 171800.
