Job Summary
- Lead a team of actuaries to support product development for Arch Insurance business units by preparing actuarial support for rate and rule filings, including indication analysis, impact calculations, competitor research, and state-specific exhibits
- Serve as a lead representative collaborating with other actuarial leaders and cross-functional business partners on product development initiatives for the given business units by providing filing strategies and being a creative sounding board to businesses
- Develop various tools for impact and indication analyses to improve automation, efficiency and quality; research and improve analytical soundness and data sources.
- Coordinate and assist in the response to state rate filing objections and help negotiate approvals
- Monitor and initiate bureau filings for rate and rule adoptions; review and interpret insurance regulations, bulletins, and publications to help determine rate impact and compliance risks for business units

Key Evaluation Criteria
- 4-8 years experience and four or more exams
- P&C Actuarial qualifications: actuaries and non-actuaries are welcome
- Leadership: Strong project management and supervisory experience preferred
- Efficiency, productivity and organizational skills, including ability to manage a small team
- Experience: knowledge of P&C Insurance products and filings in admitted lines, and engaging with DOIs
- Analytical and quantitative skills: theoretical foundation, work quality, creativity, ingenuity
- Superior communication skills are important for partnering with cross-functional business partners
- Software skills: Excel, Word, Power Point; database and programming skills preferred.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$95,900 - $148,902/year
- Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
