Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Senior Actuary to join our dynamic group of analysts. As part of our team, you will independently analyze product rate levels and rating structures in several marketplaces around the country and make recommendations based on the analysis. You will also work with Actuarial leadership on high impact analytical projects and assist in the implementation of strategies and policies.
In addition, we're looking for you to:
- Utilize advanced actuarial tools to build strategies that respond to challenges and support corporate objectives.
- Work on innovative actuarial process improvements and use data and analytical tools add efficiencies to department functions.
- Partner with other actuaries and data scientists help construct state of the art risk models.
- Collaborate with members of the sales, underwriting, claims, IT, and Accounting teams to achieve company growth and profitability goals
We're also looking to bring your strengths to the team:
- A minimum of five years of experience in an actuarial capacity.
- Achievement of or solid progression toward Associateship in the CAS preferred. Alternatively, a strong background in Data Science may also be considered.
- A proven track record in successfully implementing sophisticated pricing algorithms in auto and/or homeowners. The successful candidate will also have experience in monitoring and iterating on past implementations.
- Strong knowledge of ratemaking principles and contemporary personal lines actuarial techniques and theories.
- Strong knowledge of competitor pricing systems a plus.
- Strong business acumen, quantitative skills, and demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Programming and data querying experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in applied mathematics, statistics or related field preferred.
