Overview:

Talcott Resolution is seeking a Senior Actuarial Consultant to support its entry into the retail US Fixed Indexed Annuity market space. This role will support development of the financial reporting and valuation of the retail FIA product, including model testing, control development, and management reporting. After product launch, this role will be instrumental in performing the required US GAAP, statutory and tax reserves, analysis of results, control performance, and communication of results. This role will be in Hartford, Connecticut.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support new business initiative modeling efforts including user acceptance testing on model development of statutory and US GAAP GGY Axis model.
  • Financial reporting and valuation for FIA, ensuring timely and accurate reporting under US GAAP, statutory and tax bases:
    • Quarterly updating and running of GGY Axis US GAAP valuation model.
    • Assist with control performance, review, and documentation.
    • Support development and execution of cost of funds analysis for FIA business including roll-forward attributions and sensitivity analysis for various market metrics and policyholder behaviors.
    • Provide audit support for internal and external auditors.
    • Maintain robust model and process documentation.
    • Help complete Annual Statement, 10K, rating agency surveys, and other external reporting requirements.
  • Strengthen collaborative relationships with other key business partners including Model Development, Finance, Accounting Operations, and Internal Audit.
  • Mentor junior actuaries and other team members.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related field.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) preferred.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in insurance or finance, including involvement with actuarial valuation, modeling, and GGY Axis modeling software.
  • Insightful knowledge of Fixed Indexed Annuities is strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and diligence for the purposes of reviewing model results, improving processes, and solving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels within the organization as well as external partners.
  • Understand interdependencies and workflow between functions and geographies within a group framework.
  • Self-reliant and capable of quickly learning new concepts, thinking creatively and critically, agile, and adaptable to changing needs and challenges of a fast-paced company.
  • Results-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines in a high- performance environment.
