Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Consultant to support its entry into the retail U.S. Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity (MYGA) and Fixed Indexed Annuity (FIA) market space. This role will support development of the financial reporting and valuation of the retail FIA product, including model testing, control development, and management reporting. After product launch, this role will be instrumental in performing the required Bermuda EBS reserves, analysis of results, control performance, and communication of results. Our preferred candidate shall reside in Bermuda or other U.S. locations such as Hartford, CT, New York, NY. or remote U.S. locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Support end-to-end actuarial reporting and valuation for annuity (non-variable annuity) liabilities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting under the Economic Balance Sheet (EBS).
  • Maintain and enhance the GGY-AXIS model used for EBS reporting, including Source of Earnings (SOE).
  • Develop and update analytics to effectively communicate EBS results, including but not limited to EBS attribution analysis and key driver analysis of quarterly changes in assets, liabilities, and surplus.
  • Recommend, implement, and document valuation methodologies, controls, and procedures.
  • Prepare runs, sensitivities, validations, and documentation for the Approved Actuary.
  • Conduct sensitivities, stress tests, and cash flow projections to support key business partners (e.g., Risk Management, FP&A, and U.S. Cash Flow Testing).
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as needed to support enterprise growth and key priorities.
  • Strengthen collaborative relationships with key business partners, including Model Development, Finance, Accounting Operations, and Internal Audit.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or a related field.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or near Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
  • At least five years of experience in insurance or finance, including actuarial valuation, modeling, and proficiency with GGY AXIS modeling software.
  • Strong knowledge of Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuities and Fixed Indexed Annuities is preferred.
  • Excellent technical skills with a keen eye for detail to review model results, improve processes, and solve complex problems.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels within the organization and external partners.
  • Understanding of interdependencies and workflows across functions and geographies within a group framework.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn new concepts, think creatively and critically, and adjust to the challenges of a fast-paced environment.
  • Aptitude for technical software and coding, including proficiency in Excel, VBA, Python, and R.
  • Results-driven, able to work under tight deadlines in a high-performance environment.
