How you'll contribute:

As a Senior Actuarial Consultant II, you'll support variable annuity asset liability management strategy and corporate development. This role reports to the Director of Actuarial Services with a focus on supporting the production related process for risk and capital management strategy development. This individual will support the Strategic Analysis team in developing and maintaining the production process supporting Pathwise models, within Pathwise Project Manager. This role requires an individual eager to learn, with strong technical skills that will primarily be used in Python, Unix/Linux and SQL.

In this role, you'll get to:
  • Support the hedging and risk management of variable annuities with living benefit riders (VA), fixed annuities (FA), and structured indexed annuities (SIA).
  • Work with our model owners to improve the model release and code release cycle of our Pathwise production process.
  • Build out additional control and analytics processes to protect the accuracy and consistency of our deliverables.
  • Work closely with our IT partners and Aon to coordinate releases and improve the development workspace.
  • Support the creation of inputs and outputs to our production process using Python and SQL programming.
  • Build strong working relationship with constituents in and outside of the team.


We're looking for people who have:
  • 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role involving sensitivity analysis, risk management and/or mathematical modeling. ASA preferred, or other financial background.
  • Strong computing and programming skills with experience in Python (preferred) or one of the following SQL, MATLAB, R, C++, etc. is preferred, experience with Pathwise a plus.
  • A degree in a technical or quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, physics, or computer science with a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skill and experience tackling in-depth research projects.
  • Desirable attributes: solid organizational skill, creativity, strong communication skills, attention to detail, innate curiosity and resourcefulness, time management.

  • Compensation - Base salary ranging from $120,000 to $145,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
