Actuarial - Actuarial
The associate will be an integral part of the GAAP Valuation team within the Individual Retirement Strategies Valuation team, which is responsible for reporting and analyzing the risks of the Annuities business. Some key aspects of the individual's role will include preparing GAAP deliverables, performing attribution and sensitivity analysis for GAAP actuarial balances, as well as explaining key drivers of results to team leaders and other business partners. This position also involves problem solving and coming up with solutions for ad-hoc requests. It is part of a very dynamic team whose functions are critical to the success of Individual Retirement business.
The individual's responsibilities may include:
• Perform monthly/quarterly Annuities GAAP reporting and analysis
• Assist in preparing and presenting results to senior leaders and other business partners
• Work closely with Annuities Finance and Enterprise Valuation for GAAP related deliverables
• Contribute to and/or lead user acceptance testing of changes to the annuity actuarial model, including development of new reports to support the financial reporting process
• Work closely with Actuarial Modeling team and IT area to ensure timely model production runs are performed and to enhance existing capabilities
• Address requests from various corporate functions - Internal Audit, Risk Management, Treasurer, Portfolio Management, Chief Investment Office, etc.
• Enhance analytical tools and processes
• Ad hoc research and development
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in the field of actuarial science
• Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and well organized
• Actuarial exam progression is a strong plus
• Some experience in annuities is a plus
• Ability to work on multiple projects and help resolve conflicting priorities
• Strong verbal and documentation skills
• Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-actuaries
• Flexible to meet deliverables
• Strong technical skills (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, etc.)
• Programming Experience in any computer language is preferred (e.g. Visual Basic, python, C++, etc.)
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $93,200.00 to $138,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
