Prudential's LTC(Long Term Care) Architecture team is seeking talented applicants for actuarial positions located in Newark, NJ. The primary focus of this position is to design, build, test and deliver the end-to-end automated architecture model process that meets the reporting needs for our valuation and projection business partners.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

The individual will collaborate across functional teams (Actuarial, Valuation, Technology (AFT)) to support and execute on multiple large-scale projects to deliver best-in-class technology solutions to support input automation, reporting and analytics across modeling systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support the integration of the reporting process into the Input Data Warehouse Infrastructure by developing automatic input data feed, streamlined valuation and projection run, automated output to ledger system with PVP(post valuation process) adjustment.
  • Develop and drive test plans and perform unit testing on actuarial data management solutions such as inforce data warehouse, assumptions data warehouse and run automation.
  • Own and maintain detailed documentation for the inforce data warehouse, including data dictionary, business glossary, data enrichment logic and user guide.
  • Collaborate with LTC Valuation Team and AFT Team on a high visibility actuarial infrastructure project to modernize the end-to-end valuation model for LTC.
  • Provide data and reporting analytics consulting services to the LTC Valuation Team and other business users.
  • Support model development, model testing and/or independent model review for enhanced modeling into PolySystems Health Suite for valuation and projection.
  • Develop and maintain model documentation, including functional requirements, defect logs, test plans and release memos. Ensure that the model development life cycle is properly followed.
  • Research and recommend process improvements to enhance model stability, capability and efficiency.


There is an expectation that applicants will pursue the actuarial exam track with the goal of becoming qualified actuaries. Exam support provided.

What you'll need:
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Science-base, or analytical Field.
  • Know of LTC product and data is highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of model testing experience, preferably with data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience with Agile operation model is a plus
  • Preferred knowledge of end to end modeling process and model inputs/outputs
  • Knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence suite and data warehousing concepts is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills preferred: proficient in Excel, VBA, Access, SQL, Oracle BI and Python
  • Strong project and process management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, competing priorities, and drive projects to completion in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Actuarial exams are required.


It'd be a plus if you had:
  • Experience in model development, implementation and/or validation is a plus
  • Experience with PolySystems/GGY AXIS/modeling system or insurance administrative system is a plus

The salary range for this role is from $97,300.00 to $144,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
