Our culture is innovative and fast paced and this position will be the perfect fit for an individual who is self-motivated and a collaborative team member.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with the actuarial data and analytics team to enhance processes and maintain a high standard of data integrity.
  • Assist in the production required internal and external quarterly and annual reserving deliverables.
  • Communicate results and key business insights effectively to various key stakeholders of the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of Actuarial Valuation Reports and Financial Condition Reports.
  • Communicate with external auditors, consultants and actuaries.
  • Assist with completing the transition towards fully embedding IFRS17 requirements within the business.
  • Be comfortable working with remote teammates, particularly changing communication style as needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics or related field.
  • Actively pursuing the FIAA or equivalent designation with 2-4 years of relevant reserving experience.
  • Familiarity and experience with the APRA regulatory regime.

  • Experience with managing/supervising other teammates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

BHSI Offers:

  • A competitive package and exciting growth opportunities for career-oriented teammates.
  • A generous Actuarial Exam program which includes Study Leave per semester.
  • A dynamic, action oriented, and thoughtful environment centered on always doing the right thing for our customers, teammates and our other stakeholders.
  • A purposely non-bureaucratic organization that embraces simplicity over complexity and emphasizes individual excellence in a team framework.

NOTE: Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Team Member may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
