Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform data mining and analysis to assist in the development of UDS data
  • Assist in development of additional TIC data support capabilities
  • Work on modernization of existing tools and datasets (potentially via PowerBI and/or Python)
  • Provide support to internal business partners (such as underwriting, product, client management, and client development) on a range of actuarial issues
  • Develop presentation materials and communicate results to various internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
  • 2+ years of actuarial experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data
  • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel
  • Proven clear communication skills, particularly in conveying complex topics to non-expert audiences
  • Proven critical thinking skills that allow you to push through the data and find effective solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with healthcare / claim data
  • Basic or higher level of proficiency with Python
  • Basic or higher level of proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and/or SQL (Structured Query Language)

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
