Great American Financial Institution Services specializes in providing risk management and product enhancement programs to vehicle lenders and lessors, commercial equipment lenders, auto dealers and mortgage lenders throughout the U.S. and Canada. Target clients include commercial banks, credit unions, finance companies, buy-here pay-here dealers and leasing and rental concerns.

The Division insures all forms of collateral securing mortgages, retail installment contracts and loans. This includes but is not limited to residential and commercial real property, commercial vehicles, commercial contents and equipment, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, watercraft and aircraft.

Great American Financial Institution Services provides insurance products through agents and General Agents specializing in providing solutions for financial institutions' needs. With an average experience level of over 20 years, Great American Financial Institution Services is staffed with an energetic team of professionals empowered to respond quickly and decisively to the needs of our target clients and producer partners.

Our Financial Institution Services Division is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join their team! This position will be located in our Cincinnati, OH office and will operate on a hybrid schedule.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develops rate indications, evaluates pricing levels, analyzes profitability, and communicates results to business unit management.
  • Develop actuarial support for complex or countrywide rate filings. Provide responses to regulators' requests for information.
  • Develops predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques and communicates modeling results to business unit management.
  • Improves upon advanced knowledge in Excel and utilizes R, SQL, or similar programming language to increase efficiency in ratemaking or reserving.
  • May perform research, experience studies, and other ad hoc analyses.
  • Maintains documentation of actuarial analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 2 years of experience and has passed 1/3 or more of the exams required toward Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).

Scope of Job/Qualifications: Performs work under moderate supervision and able to balance competing priorities. Familiar with intermediate concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works on assignments of moderate technical complexity and demonstrates understanding of insurance concepts.

  • Requires regular and predictable attendance.
