Pricing
· Support regional actuary with pricing for Residential, Auto and Specialty Personal Lines products across the Latin America Region.
· Analyze Rate Segmentation products and provide recommendations on the introduction of new variables.
· Provide guidance and recommendations for the implementation or modifications of quoting, billing, policy and claims systems to ensure Data Quality and Rate Integrity.
· Works with LOB managers on the development of rating algorithms (automated as well as semi-automated) under the direction of the regional actuary.
· Pricing review of accounts referred by the Countries that require actuarial input because of their size or uniqueness.
AvE Monitoring & Reporting
· Closely monitors AvE for Personal Lines and works with LOB managers to understand loss ratio trends and evaluate prospective impact of underwriting and pricing actions that are being considered
· Works in coordination with Corporate Actuarial in identifying root causes and key drivers of loss development trends within the Personal Lines division
· Create reports with key metrics for actuarial analysis like Frequency, Severity, Loss Ratio, etc.
Budgeting / Planning
· Provides analytical support to Regional Actuary during the planning process regarding definition of Planned LRs and CAT Loads. Actively participates in the planning process and maintains communication with regional, global and corporate reserving actuaries.
· Discussion with Regional and Global Actuarial on Portfolio Performance, CAT loads and Reinsurance
Other
· Training and development of staff on actuarial topics as needed.
· Participates in data strategy projects to ensure data quality through different systems available.
Work Experience
Skills Required
· Actuarial degree or similar from accredited college or university (Mathematics, Statistics, etc)
· Al least 2 Actuarial Exams from the CAS or SoA.
· At least three years of experience in an analytics driven role. Experience with predictive modeling in a P&C environment is preferred.
· Expertise on data manipulation using SAS (or SQL in a similar analytics / database package, such as SQL Server). While not required, experience with a predictive modeling software (e.g. Emblem), and advance knowledge of SQL and SAS Macro Language are a plus.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Ability to communicate and discuss technical results to a non-technical audience
· Proven ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently when required
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to agreed schedules
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work product
