The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Chief Reserving Actuary, you will lead and manage the team to deliver timely results, provide understanding and proper business translation into P&L , within a framework of sufficient governance controls and checks. You will lead the regional actuarial reserving team to actuarial technical excellence, complying with NEW AGCS targets. a seasoned professional who drives forward work and initiatives, sets and manages priorities, and oversees and develops global actuarial approaches. You will support work of other team members and manage junior staff. A strong communicator is needed to engage in discussions with senior management and the Board on Management and collaborate with AGCS departments.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Lead and manage team
- Provide active steering of actuarial results
- Manage relationships and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, with NA CFO and Global CA
- Provide Loss Reserving and Analysis
- Business Performance Measurement and Diagnostics
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Qualified Actuary
- 7-10 years of significant industry actuarial management experience, with deep understanding of actuarial practice
- In depth knowledge of actuarial requirements of an international portfolio, with high volatile segments and challenging data availability.
- Deep understanding of business financials (e.g. P&L, Capital Reports, etc.), cost management and macroeconomic trends
- Robust knowledge of principles and practices of other relevant functional areas including Claims, Underwriting, Reinsurance and Accounting (particularly local and international accounting rules as applied to reserving).
- Proven experience in senior level communication and success driving large assignments
- Job specific knowledge with regards to market dynamics, standard concepts and approaches, regulations / compliance standards, reporting requirements (e.g. reinsurance and underwriting knowledge, reserving techniques, data flows, etc)
- Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting
- Proven experience in international working environment (incl. business trips)
- Data Modeling & Tools: Ability to understand the business needs and to develop the necessary data tools/models to support the business. (e.g. rate development, risk capital, etc...).
The annualized base pay range for this role is $157,111 - $266,252. The annual base salary range represents a national market range. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
