Location:
This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.
Department Description:
Our Underwriting team supports the pricing and reporting for our large, national customers. We work with our account management and actuarial partners to develop premiums that bring in enough revenue to cover the costs of operating our delivery system so that we can deliver high quality, affordable health care to the communities we serve.
Intern Project(s):
Risk analysis on large employer groups
Data management and reporting
Using data and new technologies to develop more efficient internal business processes
Data analysis on our National Accounts book of business
Target Majors:
Math/Statistics; Liberal Arts; Data Science; Business Administration
Target Skills:
Analytical skills
Basic understanding of data and databases
Experience with Excel, PowerBI, PowerApps, or similar programs is a plus
Familiarity with mathematical models and risk analysis is a plus
Communication and presentation skills

- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
