The Impact You Will HaveYou will join the Financial Lines North America Portfolio Steering team as an experienced professional, overseeing a portfolio that includes directors & officers, fiduciary, employment practices and errors & omissions insurance. Your specific work on pricing, reserving and data analysis will be key inputs in portfolio steering decisions.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (Underwriting, Pricing, Reserving, Finance, etc.) to foster mutual understanding of how underwriting strategies impact actuarial drivers in the financials.
  • Develop actuarial insights on portfolio performance based on internal and external data including identifying, validating and cleansing data sources.
  • Review and collaborate with Pricing and Reserving on actuarial analysis for Financial Lines NA, including development and implementation of predictive pricing models and explanation of results to Underwriting management.
  • Improve translation of underwriting and portfolio strategy into concrete underwriting actions with impact to pricing and claims, volatility management and risk accumulation.
  • Monitor inflation and loss trends and their impact on the portfolio. Advocate for appropriate selections with Pricing and Reserving.
  • Manage & drive forward own area of responsibility or project.
  • Deliver in-depth analyses, consultancy, and training to improve Financial Lines NA projects and initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of leading market practice and drive innovation.
  • Peer review work from other team members and mentor, provide guidance to junior team members.
What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Min 5 years of experience in insurance, preferably spanning multiple actuarial areas.
  • Min 5 years of experience with multiple lines of business and preferably multiple types of business. Experience with Financial Lines products is a plus.
  • Min 5 years of experience in communication of results to stakeholders.
  • Min 5 years proven experience in developing/ enhancing and implementing models / analysis and processes.
  • Software proficiency: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in statistical/programming tools (VBA, SQL, PowerBI, Python, etc.) is a plus.


The annualized base pay range for this role is $115,317 - $231,965. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.
