This individual will participate in the reinsurance renewal process and partner closely with underwriting and actuarial pricing teams both in the US and globally. The primary responsibility of the role is to price property cat reinsurance treaties covering North American exposures. The pricing exercise is a complex analytical process requiring technical expertise and judgment. Modeled results, cedent loss history, market knowledge, and individual account characteristics must be weighed and a final range of outcomes and point estimate of account profitability are arrived upon. This process is ideally a collaboration between the pricer and the underwriter to establish a consistent and holistic view of the client and the reinsurance contract and how it fits into the overall reinsurance portfolio.
In addition, the individual will participate in projects to help shape and define the company's view of risk for natural catastrophe perils in the region. This will involve research and analysis around the emerging topics of climate change, economic trends, social inflation, and more. This will be done collaboratively with Cat experts in the team and stakeholders throughout the company including the Cat R&D team, the actuarial pricing team, underwriting, business analytics, and more.
