The Market Actuary team works with Cigna's Sales teams as an actuarial resource and subject matter expert, supporting not only Cigna but our consultant partners and clients. This role partners with sales, contracting, product, pricing and a variety of other teams to communicate Cigna's value proposition and influence the consultant/broker community on this and related subjects. We are seeking a dynamic actuary to join our Market Actuary team, overseeing operations and tool development. The actuary will have the opportunity to represent Cigna externally, build diverse personal networks and relationships within Cigna and tackle a wide range of problems and challenges that will require the actuary to investigate and explore new topics and business dynamics on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and leadership for affordability initiatives, data and analytical tools and the development of Cigna's affordability and value stories. Ensure that our clinical and value-based story is developed with supportable actuarial and analytic rigor.
- May lead analytical or insights-driven projects or steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.
- Develop and maintain work plans that consider the priorities, milestones, time estimates, resource requirements, and task sequencing to achieve objectives
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with UW, Pricing, Product, Network and other key matrix partners to identify, assess and pursue projects that drive innovation and efficiency across the region and markets
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Math, Finance, Economics or similar degree
- FSA or ASA designation preferred; business analytics professional with applicable experience will be considered
- 5+ years of experience in a healthcare actuarial setting
- Experience in communicating concepts and influencing an executive level and external audiences
- Expert level knowledge of total medical cost concepts and methodologies in the health care environment
- Ability to translate abstract concepts and ideas into concrete quantitative analysis

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 120,600 - 201,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
