Job Summary

We're on a transformational journey and are looking for leaders who can vision what could be along with the capability to bring that vision to life. In partnership with units across Farmers New World Life (FNWL), we are transforming the way Finance and Actuarial work with each other, as well as how we enhance our insights to guide and influence FNWL's strategy. As a IFRS17 Life Actuary (FSA) you will initiate and drive actuarial analysis, coordinating and advocating recommendations for implementing changes due to regulatory and management reporting requirements.

Essential Job Functions

• Initiates, analyzes, recommends and implements appropriate revisions in actuarial methods and assumptions in areas with significant financial impact.
• Works independently to develop and implement appropriate solutions to actuarial issues.
• Effectively manages various workstreams and oversees junior staff to fulfill timely and accurate completion of projects.
• Represents the business unit through participation in inter-departmental meetings and committees.
• Analyzes operations to recommend improvement for control and/or efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Actions

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10-lbs. maximum and seeing.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate- controlled office environment.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

• At least five years of actuarial experience
• Modeling experience in actuarial software, SQL and Python
• A working knowledge of the IFRS17 reporting bases

Additional Qualification

• Excellent collaboration and team building skills. Experience working with business stakeholders to identify and implement enhancements to tools and processes.

Candidate qualifications may be reviewed against the requirements for the associated levels of this position's core function. Salary grade will be based on selected candidates' experience and skills.

  o NY Only: $120,080 - $185,400
  o Albany County: $127,840 - $159,800
