  • Position Summary

This position will be the pricing and strategy lead for Aetna’s Middle Market Aetna Funding Advantage (AFA), a level-funded product. 

A strong candidate will:

  • Develop deep expertise in the Middle Market AFA product to educate the organization on fundamentals of the product
  • Collaborate with large group rate review team to create and execute on a rate review process for markets with sizable MM AFA membership
  • Ensure appropriate relationship between rates of insured and MMAFA is maintained, understood, and delivered to the market
  • Take a disciplined approach to rate adequacy, with strong ownership of building and executing evolving rate review, forecasting and reporting processes
  • Ideate and evaluate strategic initiatives that balance membership and margin objectives
  • Work with product to ensure suite of benefits is competitive and appropriate for the marketplace, and understand how benefit changes may impact the rate alignment between level funded and fully insured
  • Potential to build recommendation and structure to operationally create a fixed relationship between level funded and fully insured rates
  • Collaborate and build influence with MM Center of Excellence, sales, actuarial, and underwriting business partners
  • Involvement in other market-facing fully-insured initiatives as needed


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree along with 10+ years of actuarial experience
  • ASA or FSA
  • Rating & forecasting experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Creativity and intellectual curiosity to navigate the dynamic level-funding competitive environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with any level-funded or stop loss lines of business


Education

  • Bachelors degree required/relevant professional qualification

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
