What we are looking for:
Join us as an Investment Actuary as part of the portfolio management team supporting US insurance, international insurance and pension portfolios. In this role, you will interact with portfolio managers, The Cigna Group's US and International businesses, corporate finance and accounting partners, CIM's trading desk and IT Staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the senior portfolio managers, the Investment Actuary will focus on the following:
- Act as assistant portfolio manager for assigned portfolios, including assisting with development of portfolio strategies, monitoring of portfolio metrics, management of liquidity, credit, interest rate and other risks, and implementation of investment purchase and sale programs
- Creating models to analyze potential and existing strategies and the impact on regulatory compliance, liquidity management, counterparty exposure, surplus investing and investment income projections
- Participate in CIM Roadmap working groups and collaborate with Data Governance and across CIM to define manage and govern essential data
- Collaborating with PM's to write specifications and test IT projects within an Agile framework and ensuring that the requests adhere to data governance framework and IT principles
- Work with portfolio analysts to create communication materials such as quarterly reports to clients, presentations for senior management and external stakeholders and portfolio management reports
- Monitor and summarize economics, market themes and market activity for the portfolio management team
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS
- ASA or CFA or commitment to obtain CFA required. FSA, MBA or other advanced financial designation a plus
- 3+ years of actuarial, finance or investment experience
- Ability to accommodate limited travel (up to 10%)
- Flexibility to participate in calls after normal business hours with international customers
- Strong preference for this position to be located at our corporate headquarters in Bloomfield, CT with a flexible work from home arrangement. However, we are open to those outside of the immediate area with the understanding that the position may require some travel into the Bloomfield, CT office on a periodic basis

The successful candidate will become an Access Person of CII required to comply with the personal trading requirements and restrictions contained in CII's Code of Ethics.
