As a part of Corebridge Financial's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization, the Life US ERM team is responsible for risk oversight of all financial and non-financial risks associated with Corebridge Financial's Life Insurance business in the US. The team performs independent review and effective challenge of Life pricing and product development, reserving, ALM, internal capital, strategic transactions, and operational risk. The team works closely with the business unit in the continual assessment and management of its risk.
About the role
Corebridge Financial ERM is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Life US ERM team. This person will be a key member of the Life ERM Team and will be responsible for supporting review and challenge of all Financial and Actuarial risks. The position will interact with multiple other functions including Finance, Pricing, Valuation, Experience Studies, and ALM, as well as other teams within the greater ERM organization. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and desire to deliver high quality work.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Supports risk oversight of key Financial and Actuarial risks within the Life US business.
- Carries out review and challenge of the following areas:
- Product development and pricing, with focus on product feature design and reasonableness of pricing assumptions and profitability.
- Life underwriting, including automated underwriting and major guideline changes.
- GAAP and Statutory valuation, with focus on quarterly reserve judgments.
- ALM, including changes to Life US ALM modeling and risk profile.
- Indexed Universal Life Hedging.
- Annual budget and stress testing projections.
- Capital modeling and Economic metrics
- Carries out deep dive reviews on areas of concern as identified by Corebridge Financial ERM and Life US management.
- Supports review and challenge of Life US strategic transactions.
- Produces quarterly Life US risk reports and supports other management reporting as necessary.
- Supports other ERM teams such as Risk Analytics and Model Validation Group on projects as they relate to US Life.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics or related field.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
- 8+ years of experience in Actuarial, Risk, Finance, or related field, with 3+ years of experience post-FSA.
- Strong working knowledge of US life insurance product features and risks.
- General competency related to US Life pricing, valuation (Statutory, GAAP, and Economic), underwriting, and experience studies.
- Quick learner, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Well organized with ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong team player with demonstrated success working in cross-functional collaborative teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

For positions based in Woodland Hills, California, the base salary range is $110,000-$160,000. For positions based in New York, NY, the base salary range is $125,000-$165,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
