The Business

Explore an opportunity. The Risk and Analytics Corporate Practice includes over 100 actuarial professionals focused on large market, U.S. clients. Our primary services include reserving and funding for retained losses, captive feasibility, retention optimization, and cost allocation models. The Property and Casualty Intern within our R&A Corporate practice works on software projects focused on performing reserve studies, pricing analysis and capital management activities for our diverse group of clients.

Love your work. Duties include, but are not limited, to:
  • Learning general insurance terms and best practices for software development
  • Functional programming
  • Processing and analyzing data
  • Using actuarial models
  • Problem-solving by writing computer code to produce stakeholder deliverables
  • Presenting results to colleagues


Qualifications

About About you.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong technical skills and a service-first mindset
  • A high level of general computer literacy and interest in learning new tools and application
  • Experience in managing data, and automating complex data manipulation tasks, in Python, R, SQL or other programming languages such as VBA
  • Detail-oriented and good organization skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Strong written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously and work well in a team environment
  • Nice to have skills and experience include:
  • Predictive modeling experience
  • Experience with Emblem and Radar software
  • Experience working with big data
  • Ability to code and develop in scripting and object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C#
  • Accepting applications from candidates who graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree between May 2025 through May 2026
  • Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without Visa sponsorship

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).

Compensation: The hourly rate being offered for this role is $22 - $26/hr. USD. This role is also eligible for over-time.
