Director, Actuary, The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ:

Enhance actuarial processes to improve efficiency and productivity by following actuarial models' validation, maintenance and risk management requirements. Work with the team lead and non-actuarial partners to complete annual Bermuda filing (EBS, BSCR) and support the approved actuary's opinion and audited financial statements. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team responsible for the performance of Bermuda reporting function in accordance with BMA regulatory rules and Bermuda accounting frameworks, leveraging existing processes for Bermuda reporting. Refine existing models and build up tools for reserves and capital for annual statements, capital calculations and management reports. Review and validate the liability cash flows for EBS/ BSCR/US GAAP Fair Value. Manage and review creation of quarterly valuation results for GibRe. Manage generation of forecasting and stress testing results for GibRe. Manage preparation of documents and testing for model registration and model affirmations. Manage creation, documentation and registration of assumptions in collaboration with the Assumptions Team. Administer cash settlement review processes. Collaborate and engage with key stakeholders: Lotus Re actuarial team, BU actuarial teams, Finance and Controllers, Modelling, Treasury, Global Portfolio Management, Audit (internal and external), Risk Management, and Assumptions Team. Support future Bermuda reinsurance transaction related projects.

Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate actuarial related work experience; OR a Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field and 3 years of actuarial related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:
  • International accounting frameworks and reinsurance, including IFRS and Solvency II;
  • Valuation and financial reporting;
  • Pricing;
  • Risk Management, including ALM and Stress Testing.
