[ Aon is looking for a Director/Senior Director with our Reinsurance Solutions Group

As part of an industry-leading actuarial team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Aon Reinsurance Solutions business group.

The position is based in the U.S. with preferred office locations Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, New York or Philadelphia. This position offers a hybrid workstyle (1-3 days in office) with a fully virtual option for highly qualified candidates.

Your impact as a Director

As a Director, your primary role will be to support clients as requested by supervisor or brokers, across virtually any client project or internal research assignment with a focus on Cyber risk modeling. Directors are encouraged to be a master in completing standard actuarial analyses, while also participating in more advanced analyses that support revenue growth. You will become familiar with Aon's tools and approach and present Aon's solutions and services to our clients. You will be responsible for producing and communicating high-quality actuarial analyses with keen attention to detail with the goal of helping clients make strategic reinsurance buying decisions, while also building relationships internally and externally. You should have an aptitude for problem solving, be able to manage multiple project deadlines at once, and be able to effectively communicate the results of your analyses to clients and brokers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze the costs and benefits of risk transferred under reinsurance agreements with minimal guidance on small to medium sized accounts.
  • Understand reinsurance contracts and products (terminology, terms and conditions)
  • Ability to model cyber reinsurance contracts including pro-rata, excess of loss and catastrophe excess of loss.
  • Develop bespoke analyses, visualizations, and dashboards to explain analytics to actuaries, account specialists, and clients.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for quality, accuracy, and timely completion of analysis.
  • Work with colleagues (brokers, analytics and others) to identify and respond to client needs.
  • Take initiative on internal projects to improve processes, products, or services.
  • Manage workflow proactively and be able to complete a project from start to finish with minimal input from lead consultant.
  • Ability to outline tasks of a project, delegate to junior staff, and complete projects on time.
  • Assist lead actuary in preparing and communicating analysis results to brokers and clients.
  • Takes an active role in technically reviewing junior staff work product and providing constructive feedback and coaching.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in an analytically centric environment, Cyber field preferred.
  • ACAS or FCAS or actively pursuing FCAS or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • Proficiency in a programming language, e.g., R / Python / C / Java including data extraction and transformation.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite of products
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems, think creatively, strategically, and analytically.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong ability to understand and perform mathematical and statistical calculations.
  • Economic Capital Modeling experience are a plus.
  • Reinsurance and/or consulting experience preferred.

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
