The Actuarial Operations Manager coordinates key process optimizations that enable New York Life actuarial to scale operations while advancing its data and strategy roadmap. In addition to owning project oversight, planning, and reporting, this individual supports resource forecasting to prioritize work and assist in identifying key levers for reducing process turnaround time. They are accountable for ensuring consistency, auditability, and adherence to the standard processes.
The Actuarial Operations Manager acts as a project leader, using expert communication and organization skills to ensure that project teams coordinate workflows and adhere to agreed upon schedules. The individual proactively identifies, communicates, and seeks guidance on remediating roadblocks while also assisting in a transition to an Agile mindset.
Responsibilities include:
• Executing on expectations as they relate to Retail Life, Institutional Life, Retail Annuities, Institutional Annuities, IDI, LTC, Group Membership, and Direct lines of business
• Maintaining the end-to-end development, promotion, and production schedules for supported LOBs and use cases
• Owning all end-to-end process maps
• Working with all stakeholders (end model users, developers, data generators, stagers, Prophet admin, etc.) to ensure strong coordination and communication
- Fostering accountability among project team members to drive on time delivery of project tasks and deliverables
• Defining requirements for Prophet ecosystem automation activities
• Leading the identification and implementation of production process continuous improvement opportunities
• Managing the PMCS cloud cost budget and reporting
- Leveraging Tableau as a key resource for communicating data-driven stories to stakeholders
- Activating as an advocate for change within the organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Knowledge of Agile project management
- Ability to prioritize project needs and manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and contributors to achieve project goals
- Experience working with MS Office and project management software (Jira or MS Project)
- Understanding of actuarial model release cycles
Salary range: $132,500-$197,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
