Role Overview:

Institutional Life (IL) is looking for an actuarial lead who will be in charge of actuarial analytics and modeling oversight to support new product development, inforce management, and regulatory compliance for the business. The IL pricing team is nimble in actions and closely integrated with the business; this role will have direct exposure to senior Institutional Life finance/business leaders and a wide range of functions, providing for a unique holistic experience into real time business management. This is a hybrid on-site role located in NYC Home Office and reports to the Head of Institutional Life Pricing.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for financial analytics on BOLI and COLI businesses, including Value of New Business reporting and inforce analyses
  • Manage Prophet model architecture and periodic updates across new business and inforce BOLI/COLI products to ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of Institutional Life modeling capabilities
  • Have the opportunity to lead special cross-functional financial analyses to evaluate regulatory requirements, optimize inforce economics and support decision-making on business management; examples include but are not limited to reinsurance economic analysis, assumption development, Non-Guaranteed Element attestation and Disciplined Current Scale assessment, etc.
  • Support dynamic customized case pricing requests to provide tailored design solutions to meet the various needs of institutional clients, on both new sales and inforce
  • Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory environment that may impact product development/design decisions
  • Manage 1 to 2 direct reports


What You'll Bring:
  • FSA with Prophet model experience; prior pricing experience a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deal with shifting priorities all within tight timelines
  • Strong people management and project management skills
  • Ability to flourish under ambiguity and learn on-the-job, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to think outside the box and open-mindedness to innovative and creative solutions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders with different backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal and business partnering skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across organizations and influence decision-making


Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $122,500-$210,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
