POSITION: Consulting Actuary - Life (#FSA10008648)
WORK LOCATION: 500 Edgewater Drive, Suite 522, Wakefield, MA 01880
Hybrid Role: Employee permitted to telecommute intermittently from a home office within normal commuting distance to our Wakefield, MA office.
JOB DUTIES: Provide consulting services on a wide range of financial reporting issues, involving IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and U.S. statutory accounting. Provide consulting services in Pricing, Reserving, Financial Projections, and Mergers and Acquisitions related to life insurance and health insurance products, including traditional life insurance, annuities, Long-Term Care insurance, and disability income. Perform various technical work while delegating work to junior staff to help meet client needs. Review the work of others and assist with research and product development. Responsible for several projects simultaneously providing insight into the technical direction of each project. Oversee actuarial analysts on consulting projects. Create client communications (includes data collection, project updates and answering basic technical questions). Participate in business development activities to increase revenue for the practice through new and existing clients. Conduct research and development projects to establish the practice as a thought leader in the industry. Manage, mentor, and develop staff on a particular project team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or another quantitative STEM field.
- Five years of experience as an actuary or closely related role.
- Designation as a Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA).
- Experience providing actuarial services for each of the following areas: Life insurance and annuity products; Financial reporting, involving IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and U.S. statutory accounting; Actuarial modeling; Model governance; USGAAP quarter end reporting for non-traditional life insurance; Pricing Analysis; Actuarial Internal Audit; Actuarial External Audit; Termination Study (Mortality) for LTC business; Termination Study (Lapse) for LTC business; Actuarial software applications including GGY AXIS, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and VBA.
All requirements may have been gained concurrently.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time position. Salary: $170,872 to $222,310 per year
