About The Job
The Capital Management team manages the Balance Sheet capital and capital plans and optimises capital performance including leading the development of the use of the Internal model outputs.
The Senior Analyst within the team is key to setting up and interpreting modelling output, communicating the insights from this within the team and to the business. This role will have a mix of modelling/analysis work and the opportunity to continue to study for the actuarial exams (if applicable).
What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing
Insight
- Direct analysis to meet business questions and priorities, for example using capital modelling output in areas such as business planning, reinsurance and pricing
- Investigate new effects or issues in analysis and propose plans to address these, including anticipating how these effects may change over time
- Proactively consider and communicate the assumptions and limitations that should be visible to decision makers
- Challenges how a task is approached with new ideas
Analysis
- Direct analysis to optimise output within specific work areas such as modelling to support capital investment decisions and to run stress scenarios
- Create process to ensure work is completed in a systematic and orderly way to a high standard of accuracy
- Supporting the development and delivery of strategy including exploring priorities and options
Communication
- Providing communications on technical areas that is targeted and appropriate to the audience, for example helping to draft papers for committees
- Providing objective challenge to other work areas
- Actively contributing to the actuarial team culture of high performance and inclusivity

What you’ll need
For this particular role we need you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years relevant experience in capital modelling or capital management.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in an analysis role
- Qualified/nearly qualified actuary
