Sompo has a unique opportunity for a AVP Pricing Actuary, Casualty in our North America Casualty Pricing team.
This position will be responsible for pricing and profitability monitoring of the various Property segments with ample opportunity to get involved in a broad array of projects and to contribute more broadly to Sompo International’s wider needs.

What you’ll be doing:
Provide large account pricing and collateral support for primary casualty.
Provide strategic actuarial leadership for the Commercial Auto portfolio.
Perform profitability studies to develop strategic initiatives.
Support annual planning process by providing inputs on prospective loss ratios, rate changes and other actuarial assumptions and metrics.
Continuously review and refine pricing models to ensure they are current, accurate, and consistent.
Maintain awareness of the latest technological advancements and industry trends to improve existing processes and capabilities.
Leverage both internal and external data to develop greater insight into the business.
Manage and mentor junior members of the actuarial team.
What you’ll bring:
FCAS or near FCAS preferred.
Minimum 15 years of actuarial experience with at least 4 years of experience with commercial lines preferred.
In-depth knowledge of standard actuarial methods and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing to challenge the status quo by identifying and remediating deficiencies.
Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Excel and preferably a programming language (Python, R, SQL, DAX).
Salary Range: $130,000 – $215,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
